Students from St. Mary’s School ICSE and St. Mary’s High School SSC Celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

The staff, students, and parents of St. Mary’s School ICSE, ISC, and St. Mary’s High School SSC together celebrated the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola, patron and Founder of the Jesuits on Monday, 31st July, 2023 at the 9:30 am Holy Eucharist at St. Anne’s Church.

The congregation was prepared for the Holy Eucharist with an introduction that reflected on the Ignatian theme of ‘Loving God and Glorifying God in everything we do’.

Fr. Arun Philip Simon S.J, a young dynamic Jesuit priest from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Orlem was the main celebrant of the Eucharist. During the homily, Fr. Arun reflected on the life of St. Ignatius, especially his love for God that was passionately visible in the work he accomplished for the Glory of God.

Fr. Savio Fernandes S. J, Fr. Felix D’Souza S. J, Fr. Sylvester D’Souza S. J, and Fr. Lawrence Ferrao S. J. con-celebrated the mass while Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy S. J. celebrated the Eucharist along with the congregation.

Students from St. Mary’s School ICSE and St. Mary’s High School SSC proclaimed the Word of God and prayed the intentions during the prayers of the faithful while the melodious choir of St. Mary’s School, ICSE students led the congregation to a meaningful and reverent celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

The Holy Eucharist concluded with the final blessing, incensing of the statue of St. Ignatius, and singing of the Ignatian March.

Post the Eucharistic celebration, the students and parents were served snacks, while the teachers of both sections were directed to the Residence Hall where they were entertained with a few games conducted by the SSC teachers. The celebration ended with a scrumptious brunch.
