As participants from Gonzaga College High School at the Global Perspectives Leaders Ignatian Colleagues Gathering (ICG) in Cincinnati, my colleagues (Ariel Laguilles, Global Education Coordinator, Brendan Hartnett, Religion Department Chair, Marianne Gallagher, Religion Teacher, Devon Leary, Director of Community Outreach and Culture) and I were deeply inspired by the collaborative spirit that defines our work as part of the Jesuit Schools Network. Fr. José Mesa, S.J.‘s opening presentation beautifully grounded us in our shared mission, reinforcing our dedication to advancing the Global Ignatian Scholars Program at Gonzaga in alignment with the Society of Jesus’s core values.

The conference was a profound opportunity for us to connect with Ignatian educators, all committed to integrating a rich tapestry of perspectives into our teaching. This aligns perfectly with our objective of nurturing globally minded, competent leaders committed to promoting justice. The insights and strategies we gathered from this gathering will be instrumental in enriching our program at Gonzaga, ensuring that it not only fosters academic excellence but also deepens our students’ understanding and appreciation of diverse worldviews.
We return to Gonzaga energized and equipped with new resources and ideas to share. This experience has affirmed our commitment to preparing our students to engage with and contribute positively to our interconnected world.
