Students Experience the United Nations

At Colégio Loyola in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, students carried out a simulation of the United Nations (UN), in October.  Each student represented one of the UN countries and everyone took part in debates, created political actions and practiced the principles of diplomacy and international relations, with the aim of solving problems that plague the international scene.

According to the creator of the activity, History teacher Bruno Rangel, the main aim of the project is to encourage students to take a leading role through debates and broadening their knowledge of issues relevant to world history.

Dressed in clothes representing different countries and cultures, the students embodied the stories and problems experienced around the continents. A very rich experience of intercultural coexistence and conflict resolution, in search of a peaceful world.
