Student Reflection on “A Day in my Life During Covid-19″

Hello I am  Mrs Clare, Chaplain at St Mary’s Hall in Stonyhurst in the UK. Here I am sharing a reflection from Sophia, a student at our institution as part of the Global Project “A Day in my Life: living under the Covid-19 Pandemic.” We hope you and your students enjoy reading it!

A Day in my Life: Sophia, 7, St. Mary’s Hall, UK

The Coronavirus has affected everybody.  My life is different now.  I am one of the few people who still go to school.  My Mummy and Daddy are doctors, so they have to go to work to help the poorly people with Coronavirus, so that is why I have to go to school.  The lessons are all on the computer, which is harder because it is tricky to access work sometimes.  It is fun to see my friends and teacher on the computer.  I take a packed lunch, but I miss having the cooked lunches in the Ref.  I wear home clothes instead of normal clothes.  I miss playing with my friends, and playing hide and seek.  I miss going to parties and to friends’ houses on play dates.

At home it has been fun because my teacher sends us choice boards, which have creative and fun things to do.  I have made a boat, a camper van and a bridge.  I have planted some apple seeds and they are starting to grow.  We got two new pet Lizards and they are called Jasmine and Stark.  They are very fun to play with.  It has been hot and sunny, so we have done lots of playing in the garden.  We have had fun barbeque nights.

I haven’t seen my Granny, or Nana and Grandpa, for a very long time.  I miss them, but we talk on FaceTime.

I hope everyone who has been poorly, recovers and becomes healthy again.  I will feel happy and less worried once Coronavirus is over.
