“We heard of an announcement from JRS that they were looking for people to be trained as car-mechanics. So I applied and my name came out on a list and I started. I was interested in going to the school to become a mechanic and I found out that it’s not that difficult. I am a mechanic woman. I can fix your car, your engine. Being a refugee can’t stop me from doing what I’m able to do. To fulfill my vision, to realize my dream. And my dream is to be a big mechanic woman and I’m going to do it.”

Eureka Left DRC with her son, after her husband, a journalist, was killed for political reasons. She’s now a refugee in Dzaleka camp in Malawi. Thanks to JRS livelihood training courses, she now has new skills and hopes for her future. She can now provide for her son and give him a better future.

Put your #MercyinMotion and support access to education for refugees in Dzaleka. To find out more on how to help visit the JRS website
