Expression 2017 Drawing Competition on World Olympic Day

A colourful depiction of ‘Expression 2017’ a global drawing and painting competition which took place on June 23rd, 2017 to celebrate Olympic Day. The theme for the competition which focused on highlighting Sport as a form of Peace Development was ‘Olympic Games and Peace’

On Thursday, June 22nd, 2017, students at St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata, India gave a huge welcome to Mr. Roald Bradstock, the “Olympic Picasso” and ambassador of Expression 2017 by throwing colorful paper planes in the school yard. 2,152 students created a new world record for the most amount of paper planes thrown at once. This gesture was organized to pay tribute to Mr. Bradstock as he previously represented Great Britain at the Olympics in the Javelin throwing event. President of the Bengal Hockey Association, Mr. Noomi Mehta, was present as chief guest of the event.
