Theology Lesson – Caring for the Environment

Global Citizenship, The Environment

By Ciara Beuster
Dec 3rd, 2019

Tie together Genesis 2:4-15 and Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’ to help students think about their responsibility to “cultivate and care for” (Gn. 2:15) our common home. This lesson, which utilizes the framework of the Ignatian Pedadogical Paradigm, asks students to read and reflect deeply before applying what they have learned to their own – and their school’s context. This lesson plan has been shared by Emily Keller, Jesuit High School Portland. Please feel free to email Emily if you have any questions.
