For the fifth consecutive year, in November 2017, we launched the invitation, to the entire Lux community, to participate in “Tales for Peace 2018”, but, this time, through the Educate Magis network, we extended the call to other Jesuit schools of the world, because although distance separates us, the Ignatian spirit unites us.
The response was incredible! We recieved 272 stories from 14 different schools and 5 different countries.
Choosing the 27 tales that will be part of this year’s e-book was not an easy task, which is why we had a selecting committee formed by teachers, administrative and academic personnel from Universidad Iberoamericana and other Jesuit schools, students and parents.
The tales that have been selected will now be illustrated by students from Instituto Lux and, when the e-book is complete, this will be presented in this year’s FENAL (National Fair of the Book), which will be held on the month of April.
This has been a wonderful experience, since we have been able to imagine different worlds and share visions of peace through tales, from various corners of the world.
Congratulations to all the authors whose stories got selected!
I wanted to join because I knew that this would be an enriching way for me to show my creativity and talent. I also wanted to bring pride and honor to my school and most especially, my family. Ultimately, I decided to join because I’ve always found happiness in writing and writing this story was no exception. Adrianne Therese Puno Tolentino.Sacred Heart School Ateneo de Cebu – Philippines.
I wrote the tale because my teacher presented the initiative in the clase and I think is important to participate because Peace is a very important subject for me. Aurora Maria Randazzo. Spanish Class, Istituto Gonzaga de Palermo School – Italia.
I was interested in participating because Tales for Peace constitute one of my passions, writing, with an objective that I share and in which I believe: bring to the smallest, stories about Peace. I believe that this contest is a great opportunity to engage with future generations who, when reading these stories, learn very valuable messages that can lead their day-to-day life, and as my story says, save the world through acts of peace.
