German Exchange Program

As part of a long-standing tradition between Connecticut and Überlingen, Germany, Fairfield College Preparatory School participated in a German Exchange program this summer.

With a packed 2-week schedule, they traveled to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France.

The history and legacy of this German Exchange began in 1980 when the parents of Ms. Kathleen Jackson and Herr Sebastian Fritz, Annelies Venus, and Lothar Fritz, joined their schools in what would become a 43-year tradition.

As Fairfield Prep embraced this established foreign exchange program, the opportunity arose for the global connection of Jesuit schools. In 2018, Fairfield Prep began a connection with a day visit to a Jesuit boarding school in the Black Forest, St. Blasien. In 2023, Prep students continued this connection with an overnight stay at St. Blasien. Fairfield Prep’s host families in Überlingen allow for this possibility of casting a web of continued relationships within the worldwide Jesuit community.

Prep is looking ahead to another successful trip in 2024!
