A Student Exchange Group of 24 students (15 Girls and 9 Boys) with 3 Teachers from a Jesuit School from Belgium (Leuven) arrived at St. Xavier’s School, Ranchi.
This student exchange with Belgium is an annual program of the school. St. Xavier’s School Doranda also sends a similar sized group to Belgium each year, who stay with Belgian Host Families for about 2 weeks.
A special Assembly-cum-Interaction Session was organized by the school, where the Belgian Guests received symbolic gifts. The girls received Jharkhandi handicraft bags and the boys leather wallets. The program also included singing, dancing, cultural presentations and interaction. The Belgian Group was also introduced to several Outreach Projects run by St. Xavier’s School Doranda (SXD).
The Belgian Group was very generous with local students and sponsored 290 Sets of School Uniforms (valued at Rs. 2,00,000) and 40 Bicycles (valued at Rs. 1,60,000) for the SXD Outreach School, for children in need at SXD.
The Belgian Student Exchange participants travelled around India for 10 days and visited Ranchi for 4 days at the end of the Trip.
