The recent General Congregation 36 calls us all to share God’s work of reconciliation. The three dimensions of this ministry of reconciliation (reconciliation with God, with one another and with creation) previously identified by GC35 assumed a new urgency in GC36.

“Fundamentalism, intolerance, and ethnic-religious-political conflicts as a source of violence: In many societies, there is an increased level of conflict and polarization, which often gives rise to violence that is all the more appalling because it is motivated and justified by distorted religious convictions. In such situations, Jesuits, along with all who seek the common good, are called to contribute from their religious-spiritual traditions towards the building of peace, on local and global levels”. (GC 36, D. 1, n. 28.)

Former Rwandan footballer Eric Murangwa shares his incredible story and takes us on a journey to show how sport has become a “special pillar” to help foster peace, reconcile communities and empower young Rwandans to build a positive future.

This video is an example of the hope and positive change that practicing sports can bring to a community and its children. St. Lawrence High School (SLHS), Kolkata, India, in association with its alumni, St. Lawrence Old Boys’ Association (SLOBA) are taking this hope into action by inviting all Jesuits schools from around the world to participate in a DRAWING & PAINTING Competition titled ‘Expression 2017’.
