It was a momentous occasion for our school as we celebrated the inauguration of the ISC Wing at St. Mary’s School (ICSE) in Mumbai, India.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration was Fr. Anil Pereira S.J., the Jesuit Congregation Provincial, who was accompanied by our Guests of Honour, Mr. Ratan Batliboi and his team who were the architects for this project. The dignitaries were greeted in the presence of our director, Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy S.J., our administrator, Fr. Callistus Menezes, Principal, Ms. Clemetine Monteiro, Primary School Supervisor, Ms. Nirmala Fernandes, Pre-Primary Supervisor, Ms. Sandra Fernandes and the President of the St Mary’s Alumni Association, Mr. Sharookh Contractor.

The inauguration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a solemn prayer service on 11th January, 2023. The infrastructure was then blessed by Fr.Anil Pereira S.J, Fr. Francis Swamy S.J. and priests from the Jesuit Community. The ceremony was attended by the staff and parents of our school who were truly proud to be a part of this joyous occasion.

The dignitaries were escorted to the Mary Immaculate Hall for the second half of the program. Our Principal, Ms. Clementine Monteiro introduced the dignitaries and then went on to invite Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy and Fr. Callistus Menezes to felicitate our guests.

Mr. Ratan Batliboi, the architect of this alluring infrastructure, spoke about all the meticulous efforts that were put in not only by his team but also by our administrator, Fr. Callistus Menezes who sought tirelessly to ensure that the project was completed.

Fr. Anil Pereira S.J., in his speech, highlighted the new wing’s state-of-the-art facilities and how it would benefit the school community. He congratulated Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy for his incredible vision for the present and future generations of our society. He was happy to see the Marian Family, through the leadership of Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy, living the Magis.

Fr. Callistus Menezes, in his speech thanked Mr. Ratan Batliboi and his team for all their efforts and cooperation towards making the ISC Wing a dream come true.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Fr. Dr. Francis Swamy. He thanked the dignitaries for their presence as well as their efforts in making his dream and vision come through. He also thanked our Principal, Ms. Clementine Monteiro for her painstaking efforts towards the logistics of the ISC Section.

The students and staff are looking forward to utilizing this new space to support a wide range of educational and extracurricular activities.
