Alina talks about her motivation to become a volunteer in Educate Magis

Alina is a Fundraiser at Catholic College (Katolicheskaya Gimnasia Tomska) in Russian Federation and she is also a volunteer at Educate Magis. In this interview Alina shares her wish for virtual exchanges between schools and how participation in Educate Magis projects will help their school develop, especially since it is the only Jesuit school in Russia.

Why did you decided to join the Educate Magis volunteering program?

I decided to join the Educate Magis because it is important for our school. Our school is the only Jesuit school in Russia and we have few international contacts.

How is this experience reflected in your professional and personal life?

I think participation in Educate Magis projects will help our school develop. This experience helps me to look more broadly at the community of professionals who work in Jesuit schools in other countries. We can share experiences, and that’s good. However, we do not have many people in the school who could work in this direction. That’s our problem. But I believe that everything will be fine.

What would you say are your goals, from your volunteer role, for this new year?

I wish we had more virtual exchanges between our schools. So that we develop personal ties between students and teachers (for this purpose, the English language course is now being held for teachers).

Do you have a new year message that you would like to share with other members of the global community?

I wish everyone in the New Year to be open to new interesting projects! Because sometimes one our little action can change the world.
