A family is like a patchwork quilt with emotions and love gently sewn with tender threads of warmth & happiness. It is like a tree whose branches see varied directions, yet the same roots feed them, nurture them…

This branchial bond of love was strengthened when seven comrades of the Xavier’s Delhi Province family, India came together on the auspicious occasion of ‘XAVIER MILAN –2, 2018’. This unique event was co-hosted by St. Xavier’s, C-Scheme and St. Xavier’s, Nevta.

While a ‘tilak’ adorned the foreheads of the celebrants, the air echoed with the enchanting beats of ‘SILVER STRINGS’, the school band of St. Xavier’s, Nevta.

The program was a colorful kaleidoscope, full of events and contests.

QUIZ CONTEST: Every round brought a bag of mind-boggling questions…

BASKETBALL & FOOTBALL MATCHES: Nail- biting finals with sportsmen loaded with zeal and enthusiasm…

GROUP PERFORMANCES: Classical, semi-classical, western, Indian and folk group dances along with Indian songs…patriotism, empathy, love for the poor & gender parity were some of the major themes…

EXTEMPORE: Varied topics made the participants a bundle of nerves for an instant…who battled against odd circumstances and later expressed with utmost zest…

INTER-HOUSE TREASURE HUNT: Innovative, joyful & exciting… participants savored decoding the riveting riddles…

 

 

Fr. John Ravi S.J. shared his expertise about the world scenario today. In his address, he invited the young Xavierites to be sensitive humans with strong values, who will strengthen the fabric of the society and will be men and women for and with others…

 

The participants from the Xavier’s family were mingled and grouped into four houses namely:

– Fr. Wilzbacher; Fr. Wilmes, Fr. Batson & Fr. Mayer…

In all 176 celebrants celebrated the Xavier Milan …their aim, not to compete but to collaborate…to celebrate being a family…to celebrate togetherness…

The culmination day found the sky overcast with clouds and it rained…drenched in the drops, the treasure hunters rummaged every nook and corner of Nevta Campus.

It was exciting to watch the groups run from pillar to post to catch clue after clue and solve the riveting riddles to hunt the treasure. The display of team-work and togetherness was commendable, a treat to the eyes.

The participants were conferred with chocolates, certificates and tee shirts.

In conclusion, Xavier Milan 2018 was a journey of togetherness, of love that strings us together… In just one word, I would say, it was truly ETHEREAL…
