Supporting the Learning, Reflection and Implementation Process of Ignatian Global Citizenship Education

More and more educators from Jesuit schools around the world are in the process of introducing and integrating Global Citizenship Education into their classrooms. Over the past two or three years it has become more common to see Global Citizenship taskforces, working groups, cohorts and coordinators in Jesuit schools and Provinces. We are excited about this development and also conscious of the need to support teachers and leadership in the continuous learning, reflection and implementation process on this important topic.

In our global community you can find this support by diving into the concept of  Global Citizenship Education from an Ignatian perspective.

One way to do this is by sharing your questions, learnings and/or reflections through global conversations. These are not just online conversations where you share your opinions, the advantage is that you get to explore the Global Citizenship concept and co-create ideas for its implementation with teachers from other Jesuit schools who live and teach in different countries, but who share the same Jesuit Mission and Ignatian Identity. This is what makes these global conversations so valuable for us as a global community. Global Citizenship Education is now more relevant and important than ever for our schools and more specifically for the benefit of our students.

We invite you to dive in and participate in an existing conversation, or indeed create your own. Let’s continue discerning the importance of integrating Global Citizenship Education into our work in the classroom in the context of our world today and through our Ignatian perspective! Let’s keep renewing and innovating together!

Here are some Global Citizenship conversations that are happening in our global community. Let us know what you think and if these conversations are helpful for your school’s Global Citizenship goals.
