St. Aloysius College in Malta has produced these two booklets as resources for educators to integrate global citizenship in their curriculum. These are helping to highlight two identifiers of Jesuit Education as described in the document A Living Tradition: Global Citizenship Education and Care for the Common Home.

The first booklet Towards Eco-Solidarity & Global Citizenship was produced by the Assistant Head for Global Citizenship within the Primary School, Roberta Camilleri. The process started from a survey done with students and staff to see which three SDGs and priorities the school should focus on in the coming two years. After these having been chosen, she integrated and aligned the different programmes which the school is affiliated with together in this booklet. The main threads were the SDGs, the Laudato Si’, Eco-Schools, a local programme, Dinja Wahda and Global Calendar Dates. This helped the educators to see all in synchrony within their curriculum. At the end of the booklet she left space for notes for them to jot what is done in the class is related to global citizenship themes. This booklet was accompanied by a poster which would be hung on a noticeboard and which teachers could also use as part of their documentation of what they would have done in this respect.

The second booklet Embracing Sustainable Earth and a Humane World was produced by the Assistant Head for Global Citizenship within the Secondary School, Sasha Borg. The Secondary School of the College has been working on SDG 15 Life on Land through an afforestation project, on SDG 12 with the focus on Responsible Consumption and Production as well as SDG 13 with the focus on Climate Change. Ms. Borg integrated the action projects, with curriculum ideas as well as excerpts from Laudato Si’. At the end of the booklet she also included the integrated Ignatian vision of Global Citizenship and invited the different departments in the school to empower students for action towards a particular Global Calendar Date.
