Catharine Steffens, Director of Global Partnerships and Initiatives at the Jesuit Schools Network of North America (JSN) introduces the Jesuit Schools Network Ignatian Global Scholars Program (IGS). A new program rooted in the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (IPP), which uses the Ignatian Global Citizenship definition as a lens through which students are invited to reflect on where the experiences of their current courses and co-curriculars are calling them to action.

After two years of collaboration with JSN’s Advisory Group for Global Perspectives, JSN is excited to launch IGS, a program designed to encourage both students and schools to go deeper into the topics they’re learning and teaching. View the IGS Program Toolkit here

«The program is rooted in the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm and uses the Ignatian Global Citizenship definition as a lens through which students view the experiences of their current courses and co-curriculars to reflect on where the Holy Spirit is calling them to action. Context comes in the form of classwork and language acquisition; experience through intercultural engagement; and co-curriculars and action through service or a project. Reflection is an integral part of the IGS Program, intentionally framed in the context of the Universal Apostolic Preferences. The committee has worked hard to provide schools with all the tools needed to be successful in implementing the IGS Program.
