Gonzaga College SJ Staff Formation Day – Looking at the UAPs as a School Community an at a Personal Level

On August 29th, Gonzaga College SJ, in Ireland, held an ethos session for staff as part of staff formation. The theme was looking at the Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAP) and offered staff the opportunity to reflect on them as a school community but also at a personal level. As part of this Joe Munnelly from Irish Jesuits International (IJI) spoke about their volunteer programme, Dr. Ciara Murphy from the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice spoke about Care for Our Common Home and Valentina Navarro Larkin from Educate Magis gave us an insight into the global nature of Jesuit education.

Valentina took groups through the Educate Magis website and explained different ways we as teachers can connect both with other teachers from around the world but also connecting our classes. She explained the wealth of resources available to teachers through Educate Magis and outlined opportunities to engage the global perspective in our classrooms. It was a wonderful reminder that we are not a single school but part of a global network working in partnership.
