«Ensemble 2018» participations held by Jesuit schools in Lithuania, Brazil and India

Here are some videos and pictures of «Ensemble 2018» participations held by Jesuit schools located in Brazil, Lithuania and India to celebrate International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in April 6th. 

«Ensemble 2018» is a symbolic act organised by St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata, India in association with St. Lawrence Old Boys’ Association were white cards are presented as a symbol of peace and togetherness through sports.


The students from Colégio São Luís in São Paulo, Brazil organized a fun video displaying
white cards for «Ensemble 2018».

In Colégio Diocesano Teresina, Piauí, Brazil the symbolic act was carried out by the school basketball team. Students representing each class of the institution filled the basketball court and the floors of the building displaying white cards during the game.

Šiauliai Jesuit School in Lithuania organized an event under Ensemble 2018. 

 

In St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata more than 2000+ students, teachers, staff, Jesuit Fathers, alumni and guests took part by showing their White Cards.

The same day, St. Lawrence High School in India also introduced together with ‘Ensemble 2018’ an online International Chess Tournament for schools, ‘Chess ‘n’ Mate’, with a mission of peace and cross-cultural exchange amongst children around the globe.

In parallel to the chess tournament, the children who were playing each other will team up to write a ‘peace through sport’ message of maximum 30 words. The top 5 messages will have special prizes coming from Olympians.

The inaugural exhibition online match was played between chess masters Russian GM Alexandra Kosteniuk, also member of  the team ‘Champions for Peace’ in Peace and Sport and Indian GM Dibyendu Barua at  St. Lawrence High School. Post the match both players displayed their White Cards for peace through sport.
