Campion House embracing the Red Chair Project!

The Red Chair Project is a Jesuit social justice campaign aimed at raising awareness of the 58 million young people who don’t get the opportunity to get an education. Reasons for this injustice include poverty, gender inequality and conflict in their region.

The patron saint of Campion House, St Edmund Campion, used his education to enhance and enrich the faith of others in times of persecution and it was, therefore, fitting that Campion House centered its awareness campaign on this education-based project.

Campion students painted red chairs and placed them around the College during Week 6 to symbolize those students that don’t get the opportunity to sit in a classroom.

In Pastoral Care, the whole school completed a series of activities that included an Examen, class discussions and an opportunity for personal reflection on the opportunities their education here at the College has on their own lives.

Campion House would like to thank the College community for embracing the Red Chair Project!
