An Invitation to Connect and Share the Joy of Christmas – Global Christmas Prayer 2020!

This Christmas let’s share the gift of joy with each other! Our students may not be able to celebrate Christmas in the way they would like to this year but we would like to offer them something creative and fun to look forward to. We would like to invite your students in Jesuit schools around the world to share their joy, their wishes, dreams, hopes and prayers with each other.

How can I participate with my students? There are a number of ways you can take part! Please choose one of the following options 😊

Connect and share through a live Connected Classroom on Thursday Dec 3rd  – more details here
This connection will take place through Educate Magis Connected Classrooms. If you are currently teaching onsite and would like your classroom to participate please join the Global Christmas Prayer 2020 Connected Classroom here. The connection will be hosted in English and Spanish.

Send us a video of your students sharing their Christmas wishes (via WeTransfer or a YouTube link to info@educatemagis.org) by Dec 4th

If you are currently teaching online or the timing of the Connected Classroom doesn’t suit but you would like your students to participate please send us a video of your students sharing their Christmas wishes in a creative way. Maybe a song, a poem or a prayer? The more creative the better! The video should be maximum 1minute long. We will edit all videos together to create one global video.

Have your students’ share their Christmas joy, wishes, dreams and hopes through a drawing, painting, poem or prayer to be submitted to info@educatemagis.org by Dec 4th
For anybody who feels that they would like to express the joy of Christmas through an art piece, please send us PDF or JPG files with your students’ artistic expression.

On the 24th of December we will share your students’ gifts of joy with everyone in our Global Community in such a way that you can then pass it on to your students (and colleagues)! As a Jesuit Global Community of Educators together we can give the gift of joy to our students all over the world, by being bearers of joy and hope!

Let us make this Christmas as special as we can for our students across the globe!

Joy is the true gift of Christmas, not the expensive gifts that call for time and money. We can communicate this joy simply: with a smile, a kind gesture, a little help, forgiveness. And the joy we give will certainly come back to us.…Let us pray that this presence of the liberating joy of God shines forth in our lives.” (Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI)
