Why should we get involved as members of Educate Magis? And, how can we network with other members of our global community?

Why should we get involved as members of Educate Magis?

This is a question that many educators in our schools ask us. It all starts with your choice to deliver on the holistic vision of education offered by Jesuit schools. By networking with other teachers of our global community you are making your contribution to deliver on the holistic vision of Jesuit education, forging the path to human excellence, through the formation of young people of conscience, compassion, competence and commitment (the four C’s).

But, what is the holistic educational vision that Jesuit schools offer? This holistic vision it’s presented in a didactic way in the “An Integrated Perspective” infographic, which puts together the most important recent documents that shape Jesuit Education today: “Human Excellence” 2015, “The JESEDU-Rio Action Statement” 2017, “The Universal Apostolic Preferences” 2019 2029, and “Jesuit Schools: A Living Tradition in the 21st Century”2019.

Each document has its own purpose, but together they present a comprehensive response to the mission of the Society of Jesus as it has been defined by GC36: “A Mission of Reconciliation and Justice with God, within Humanity and with Creation.”

Each piece calls for the others; each stand in a dynamic relationship that completes and enriches the others. Separately, important as they are, they cannot communicate the complexity and depth of Jesuit Education. Put together they capture the contemporary understanding of the holistic education offered by Jesuit schools.

How can we network with other members of our global community to make our contribution to deliver on the holistic vision of Jesuit education?

This is another question we continually receive from schools in various parts of the world.

You can get involved with other members of our global community at a level of participation that better suits your current context and needs. For example, if you are a new member of our community we recommend you to network by updating your profile, so other teachers can get to know you. On the other hand, if you regularly engage with members of our global community we recommend you to showcase the Global Map of Schools in your classroom and school, and if you would like to go further and get involved as a leader member of our global community, then we invite you to enhance your School Profile, so other schools around the world will wish to connect.

These are just a few examples of how you can network and/or connect with other members of our global community. On the “Get Involved” page, you have direct access to these recommendations.

We invite you to explore other dimensions of levels of participation in the Educate Magis community by visiting the “Get Involved” page, a new page that will help you learn and explain whywho, and how to get involved in the global community of Educate Magis.
