“We are the world” is an interschool, international extravaganza in which our school St. Mary´s ICSE in India has stood first for the last four consecutive years with this year being the quadruple.

We are the World was held on the 30th of November and 1st of December, 2019 at H. R. College and Karnataka Sports Ground. The events organized by the Rotract Club of H.R. College were creative and spread over various sections like Fine Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts and Informals.

We far surpassed all schools and won with a large margin of five thousand points! Given below are the details with regard to the various sections for your kind perusal:

PERFORMING ARTS
In the performing arts section we bagged the first place in all the three events namely:

Nothing but the Beat which was the acapella event. The boys did a fabulous job in this event singing with all their heart and soul and sent the audience in a mesmerizing world with their voices

The Devil wears Prada which was the fashion show event In this event, the boys put in a lot of hard work by waiting back every day after school to practice their parts and perfect it and it all paid off on the day of the performance when the whole audience burst into cheers after watching our show.

All the Right Moves which was the dance event. Our dance was spectacular and far superior in front of the other schools with our sense of cross dressing and ideas. Our dance moves left the audience in awe of our school’s talent.

INFORMALS

In the informals section we stood first in three events out of which one was a flagship event which is the most important event in the section and we stood second in the remaining two events. The students gave in their all on the day of the event which made informals such a success.

LITERARY ARTS

In the literary arts section our students gave their level best to win all the events. However luck did not seem to be on our side and we only placed second in the event Thesaurus.

FINE ARTS

The fine arts section was good although it seemed very unfortunate that we were not able to win any event. Even though we couldn’t perform well in Literary and Fine Arts our students made up for it in Informals and Performing Arts section giving in their whole to cover up for their mistakes and get the school to the top.

A very big thank you to the “We are the World”Swamy core committee and all the teachers in charge for contributing to this great victory and bringing back home the trophy for the fourth time which is so important to our school. We also thank Dr. Father Francis Swamy and Miss Monteiro for supporting us and giving us such an opportunity to represent our school which is a huge honour.
