The Daily Examination of Conscience at Collège Libermann in Cameroon

The daily examination of conscience, which is one of the pivotal exercises in Ignatian spirituality, is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events of the day. It aims at detecting God’s presence and discerning his direction for us. This practice was recommended by the Society of Jesus to all Jesuit schools worldwide.

At Collège Libermann, in Cameroon, this practice has been adopted this school year (2021 – 2022) as we are commemorating the legacy of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Internally is used as a powerful tool to initiate our students into Ignatian spirituality and to get them more acquainted with this praying method.

For a start only students in the second cycle will be praying this way from 11h50 to noon. During these ten minutes, our learners are going to follow the various steps that articulate this moment in their hearts of heart and then conclude with the lord’s prayer.
