The Secretariat for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education of the Society of Jesus released a new virtual document which compiles all of Fr. General Arturo Sosa SJ’s interventions during his visit at the Education Delegates Congress, JESEDU-Rio2017 in October of last year, 2017. The final agreements of the Congress, approved by the participants, which capture the spirit of the event are also published.  

In the words of Rafael Galaz, member of the editing committee of the book:

The Secretariat wants to share this tool with the entire Global Education Network, so that educators, management teams and Delegates can read, re-read and deepen our understanding of the rich message which Fr. General expressed during the Congress. We hope that this material can help us all to help us all to continue generously constructing the global network which allows us to develop our dream of ‘a universal body with a universal mission, as is expressed in the final agreements of the congress”.

This publication comprises of five chapters which include:

1. The interview of Fr. General by the JESEDU-Rio2017 Communications team.
2. The Homily of the Closing Mass of the Congress.
3. His speech, “The Education of the Society…”
4. The conversation between Fr. General and the Education Delegates.
5. The final agreements of the Congress

Apart from the official documents, the book provides information on the context in which each of the interventions was given and a proposal for reflection and questions for discernment.
