Parents and Guardians from a Variety of Jesuit Schools across the U.S. joined the Advent Gathering “Listening with the Heart: Kinship, Family, and Belonging”

Last Wednesday an Advent gathering entitled Listening with the Heart: Kinship, Family, and Belonging was presented to a group of parents and guardians from a variety of Jesuit schools with participants joining in from across the U.S. as well as our parent friends from as far as St. Ignatius College in Zimbabwe!

Held in two identical sessions to accommodate multiple time zones, the virtual program was comprised of prayer, a presentation, personal reflection, and both small and large group sharing.

Parents/Guardians were asked to think about the unique way they are called by God, how they might encourage their families to recognize this call, and how to enfold these identities into the global family community.

This was an inaugural international event designed to connect parents/guardians of Jesuit school students.  We hope to offer a similar program for Lent and details will be provided here when planning begins.

Please write us if any of your school parents or you have interest in helping with our Lenten program.

The Advent service was beautiful! You and Bob prepared such a lovely, prayerful program. Thank you so much for all your efforts and what a great way to connect Jesuit school parents near and far. It was so nice to meet the parents in my group.” – St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, NJ

It was a wonderful way to begin the Advent season connecting with other Ignatian families around the world.  The conversation continued at our dinner table last night with our children as we discussed the names God calls us by.” – Regis High School, New York, NY

Our small group conversations were so rich and Michelle – what a great presentation! I’m grateful for you both and look forward to working together more in the future” – Loyola Blakefield, Towson, MD
