Introducing “Get Involved”, a page to know why, who, and how to get involved in Educate Magis, our global community!

On May 12th, 2022, Elisabeth Clarke, Director of Ethos at Clongowes Wood College SJ, a Jesuit school located in Co. Kildare, Ireland, kindly welcomed us, Karina Zapata-Roche and Father Sunny Jacob, for a day of sharing and learning about the great Ignatian Legacy of Clongowes, and of the many Educate Magis resources and initiatives available for the school.

During the visit we were invited to be part of a focused group to discern and discuss the needs of the college, the opportunities of the global network, and the best possible future collaboration and involvement of Clongowes. This group included the Headmaster (Chris Lumb), Deputy (Paul McCormack), Director of Studies (Helen Hickson), Head of Boarding (Steven Grey), Father Rector Michael Sheil SJ, Math/Science teacher and IPP Rep Caitriona MacNeany, Prefect Derek McConn, R.E. & CSPE teacher Fran Marron and Elisabeth Clarke, Director of Ethos.

For this meeting we prepared a brief overview with information and examples of Educate Magis resources ready for learning and implementing on the IPP, on Global Citizenship, on Globally Connected Classrooms and Faith Formation for staff.

We also had the opportunity to meet with the entire faculty and share who and what Educate Magis is and the many opportunities it offers for teachers.

Thanks to our amazing host, Elisabeth, we also got to see the school’s Ignatian legacy in the many different historical buildings. And met Fr. Bernie, Fr. Michael, and Fr. Charlie for a delightful and inspirational walk through the story of the school.

We are grateful for the time Fr. Michael, Cris, Paul, Elizabeth, and all at Clongowes gave to us.  It was a truly delightful and fruitful visit, and we are looking forward to doing more together.

“Thank you very much for your visit and sharing of the many Educate Magis resources and initiatives! Thank you also to all the Educate Magis Team for their outstanding work and support! We look forward to innovating, participating in and contributing to our global network – it is truly exciting. God Bless, Elisabeth”
