Arman & Riaan White Card Initiative Nominated for PEACE AND SPORT AWARD at Monaco

My initiative ‘HOPE FOR PEACE’ is nominated for the prestigious Peace and Sport Award at Peace and Sport International Forum in Monaco on November 30, 2022.

“As it is important in sports to catch and train them young, similarly I always felt in peace-building it is important to teach our children about peace before someone else teaches them about hate and violence. We need to catch them young here too. I realized nothing can be a more powerful tool to educate children about peace than sports.” Think Peace Through Olympic Values and Sports. Rahul Mukherji, International Olympic Committee certified Master Trainer for their Olympic Value Education Program (OVEP).

Arman is an 11-year-old boy from Islamabad, Pakistan and Riaan is an 8-year-old boy studying at St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata in India. By raising their#WhiteCards, they sparked a message of hope, dialogue, and peace on the occasion of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace 2022 (April 6th). Through this symbolic gesture, they were not just making a gesture of peace and friendship towards each other, but for their countries, and the world, highlighting how sport can and should unite and foster dialogue. Their joint video on social media got important media coverage in South Asia.

It is the only nomination from Asia.
