12 Reflections on Paintings for Our Common Home – Painting #3 “In God’s Temple”, and Reflection #3 “In God’s Temple”.

In God’s Temple

Jesus prayed in lonely places.

He regularly return to the hills to pray and commune with his father.

He was constantly in God’s temple, the nature.

The sky was his roof and the earth was his home.

He was born in a manger, surrounded by animals.

He fasted in the wilderness where wild beasts and the angel looked after him.

He preached at the sea shore, sitting on a hill or under a tree or on a boat at the sea.

His parables are from nature: the sower, the seed, the sheep, birds, lilies, water, light, fig tree, sky, vine etc.

Jesus and nature are indelibly linked together.
